Graduate Position: M.Sc. or Ph.D.

The Department of Population Medicine at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College is recruiting for a graduate position at the M.Sc. or Ph.D. levels in Epidemiology (or Public Health). The graduate student will be fully funded and will be researching areas in workplace mental health, moral distress, and organizational commitment in the veterinary profession (or related fields).
About the Supervisor: Dr. Basem Gohar is an assistant professor in the Department of Population Medicine and an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Guelph. Clinically, he is a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Gohar conducts ‘prevention-focused’ research that helps identify and understand adverse health outcomes in the workplace. He applies various research methods, including knowledge synthesis (e.g., meta-analyses) and mixed methods.
